Do you accept insurance?

My office is out-of-network and I do not accept insurance. If your insurance offers behavioral health coverage for out-of-network providers, I can provide you with a statement to submit to your insurer. I do not submit insurance claims on your behalf.

I suggest that you call your insurance when you decide to begin treatment to determine what your outpatient behavioral health coverage is. If you have out-of-network coverage you’ll want to be sure you have the address where you can send your receipts for reimbursement.

Also check if you will require a prior authorization or referral as sometimes coverage is different for a 45 minute session versus an hour session. Your insurance may not reimburse you 100%. Having this information when starting treatment will help you decide if your are comfortable with your out-of-pocket expense.


Payment is due at the time of your session. I accept the following major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, and American Express as well as PayPal and Venmo. You will not be billed for any processing fees if you choose to pay by credit card. I also accept payment via cash or check at the start of each therapy session.

If a session is not cancelled at least 48 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session. Clients will assume responsibility for the full fee of an appointment that is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice.  Please keep in mind that I hold each weekly appointment specifically for each patient. Rescheduling rather than cancelling is best.

I will email receipts at the beginning of each month for all sessions paid for in the previous month (for example a receipt for any sessions in April will go out the first week in May). The receipt for the month is issued when all sessions from that month have been paid.

You will be charged the full session fee if you do not notify me via email or phone 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. Should a last minute emergency or sickness arise, your session fee will be waived when you notify us.

Please complete the intake forms prior to the first appointment. These will be sent to you prior to the first session and can be sent to me via the secure patient portal or you can bring them with you to the first session. Any reports or recent testings that are relevant from school or other providers are also important to bring.


Click on the “Resources” header at the top of our home page, and then select “Make a Payment” from the pull down.

After you download the app and sign up, search for “Deborah Brewer LCSW Inc” and enter the exact payment amount. In the “What it’s for” section, enter the date of the service and the provider’s initials so we know where to apply your payment.

**Most importantly: always select the audience as “Participants Only” so that your payments are private, and not shared with your friends or Venmo public. You can make this privacy setting automatic by going to settings>sharing>select default audience as “Participants Only”.
